Introduction

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) is a three-year full time degree programme. It is affiliated to University of Mumbai. The course is divided into six semesters. The course helps the students in getting a specialized knowledge in the area of Accounts, Cost Accounting, Financial Management and Taxation. The teaching methods includes lectures, presentations and case studies. There are various guest lectures and seminars conducted in order to give practical experience to the students by the professionals.

Eligibility

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) Degree course shall have passed XII std. examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt (40% in case of reserved category). Every candidate admitted to the degree Course shall have to register himself/herself with the University of Mumbai.

Admission

Admission to the course offered by the rules framed by the University of Mumbai from time to time and will be given at the commencement of the first semester.
Candidates seeking admission other than Maharashtra board and colleges affiliated other than University of Mumbai must produce a Transfer Certificate from the board/college last attended.

Programme Outcome

This Programme is dedicated to the study of Accountancy and Finance. It offers an in-depth study of Financial Accounting, Auditing, Cost Accounting and Taxation, while also touching business related communication, mathematics and law. It also provides instruction in research methodology and enhancing the general knowledge and social consciousness of students. The Programme is ideal for those aspiring to become CA, CFA, CMA and similarly qualified.
